Terms of Use

Last updated: March 2026

Acceptance

By accessing or using Faraaid (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Educational use only — not legal or religious advice

Faraaid is an educational and planning tool. Nothing on this website — including the inheritance calculator, will generator, or any content — constitutes legal advice, religious advice, a legal will, a fatwa, or a solicitor–client relationship of any kind.

The calculator applies Hanafi faraid rules as a general educational guide. Results are illustrative only and do not account for all factors that may affect inheritance under Islamic law or Canadian law in your specific circumstances. You must consult a qualified Islamic scholar and a licensed estate lawyer before making any decisions about your estate.

Accuracy of inputs and results

Faraaid performs calculations based entirely on the information you enter. We make no representation that results will be accurate, complete, or applicable to your situation. Errors in inputs — including misidentification of heirs, incorrect asset values, or omission of relevant family members — will produce incorrect results. You are solely responsible for verifying all inputs and outputs.

Will generator template

The document produced by the will generator is an educational planning template only. It is not a legally valid will in any jurisdiction. To create a legally binding will in Ontario or elsewhere in Canada, you must work with a licensed lawyer who will ensure the document meets all applicable legal requirements.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Faraaid and its operators shall not be liable for any damages of any kind arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service — including but not limited to direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, loss of data, loss of income, or any other losses, even if Faraaid has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without any warranty, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed zero dollars (CAD $0), as the Service is provided free of charge.

School of jurisprudence (madhab)

Faraaid currently applies Hanafi faraid rules only. Results may differ materially under other schools of Islamic jurisprudence (Maliki, Shafi‘i, Hanbali). If you follow a different madhab, the outputs of this tool are not applicable to your situation without review by a qualified scholar.

Changes to the Service

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time without notice. We may also update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved in the courts of Ontario.
